'PAST and PRESENT' is a new publication to celebrate London Glassblowing's 35th anniversary. The book features work created by 26 of the country's leading glassblowers, all of whom have worked at the studio in Bermondsey.
London Glassblowing is one of Europe's longest surviving studios and its longevity is largely down to the boundless energy of its founder and owner Peter Layton – one of the world's most respected glassblowers.
Peter is celebrating his 75th birthday this year, and remains as enthusiastic and passionate as ever in his pursuit of colour, form and texture in his works. This, and his ability to nurture developing talent, has kept the work at London Glassblowing fresh, exciting and continually evolving. A strong use of colour and free organic forms make Peter's own work keenly collected and instantly recognisable.
During March, Church House Designs is hosting a collection of Peter Layton's recent pieces, together with copies of his book 'Past and Present'.
