My silver and enamelled jewellery is inspired by the natural world, the local land and seascapes around Seaford, where I now live and work. The patterns, textures and colours of the local shingle and pebble coastline and surrounding countryside inform my work.
I sketch from observation then formalize my drawings to produce the linear patterns that are etched under the enamels or raised onto the surfaces of my pieces. The colours are those of the Sussex seas and skies observed throughout the year.
The techniques I use in my jewellery making include enamelling, etching, piercing and engraving. All my fabrication techniques are done by hand.
