Rosie Smith is an artist/ceramicist whose work is well known in the West Country. Born in Bristol, she moved to Sand Bay at the age of nine, later training at Weston College and afterwards Hornsey College of Art in London. For many years, she has worked on large scale tile paintings: mainly for public buildings, but also on a small scale - like the painting of Forget-me-nots in the ‘Ground Force’ memorial garden to Jill Dando in Weston-super-Mare.
Howard Smith was born in Weston-super-Mare. He went on to qualify in medicine at the University of Bristol, eventually returning to his home town to work in General Practice. With Rosie, he has been keenly involved with local environmental issues and the Weston Civic Society.
